How to Ship My Car: Importing Your Car to the UK When Relocating

If you are moving to the UK, your vehicle may qualify for tax relief under the ToR1 (Transfer of Residence) scheme.

Requirements include:

• The vehicle must have been owned and used for more than 6 months before relocation

• The owner must have lived outside the UK for at least 12 months

This allows eligible vehicles to be imported without paying UK import duty and VAT.
